Phase diagram of imprinted copolymers

چکیده
Recently, a model for the preparation of "protein-like" heteropolymers with a unique and stable ground state has been proposed and examined computationally. Formally, this model is similar to another recently proposed and computationally examined model of the evolutionary design of protein-like heteropolymers. Using mean field replica theory, we find, in addition to the freezing transition of random chains, a transition to the target "native" state. The stability of this state is shown to be greater than that of the ground state of random chains. The results derived here should at least qualitatively be applicable to known biopolymers, which are conjectured to be m viva "designed" by evolution. Furthermore, we present a crude prescription for a laboratory procedure in which chains can be syntheeized m vitro.

Analytical Weak-Segregation Theory of Bicontinuous Phases in Diblock Copolymers
We compute phase diagrams for diblock copolymers in the mean-field weaksegregation regime as a function of the fraction f of A-monomers and the repulsive interaction XN. We include the ordered bicontinuous double-diamond (OBDD) phase [space
متن کاملPhase Behavior of Sphere-Forming Triblock Copolymers in Films
The self-assembly of sphere-forming triblock copolymers confined between two thin homogeneous surfaces is investigated based on mean-field dynamic density functional theory. The morphologies deviating from the bulk sphere-forming phase are revealed, including cylinders oriented perpendicular to the surface, cylinders oriented parallel to the surface, perforated lamellae and lamellae by varying ...
متن کاملPhase diagram of diblock polyampholyte solutions
We discuss in this paper the phase diagram of a diblock polyampholyte solution in the limit of high ionic strength as a function of concentration and charge asymmetry. This system is shown to be very similar to solutions of so-called charged-neutral diblock copolymers: at zero charge asymmetry the solution phase separates into a polyelectrolyte complex and almost pure solvent. Above a charge as...
متن کاملMulticritical Phenomena and Microphase Ordering in Random Block Copolymer Melts
A mean-field analysis of microphase separation and phase behavior is described for melts of linear A-B multiblock copolymers, each chain consisting of a stochastic sequence of flexible segments (each with M monomers), AM and BM, for a total of Q >> 1 segments per chain. We find a phase diagram similar to that for statistical A-B copolymers (M = 1) but with an isotropic Lifshitz point that shoul...
متن کاملSelective Extraction and Determination of Di(2-ethylhexyl) Phthalate in Aqueous Solution by HPLC Coupled with Molecularly Imprinted Solid-phase Extraction
Surface Molecularly Imprinted Polymer (SMIP) for selective adsorption of di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate(DEHP) was prepared on the surface of silica gel which was modified by aminopropyltriethoxysilane and acryloyl chloride in a two-step method. The prepared SMIP was used to prepare Molecularly Imprinted Solid-Phase Extraction (MISPE) column for selective extraction of DEHP from aqueous solution...
